Title: Get Wickedly Creative: Disco Ball Cauldron for Enchanting Halloween Decor!
Hey there, Halloween enthusiasts! The spookiest season of the year is just around the corner, and it’s time to brew up some devilishly delightful decorations for your Halloween party or haunted house. Today, we have a spellbinding DIY project that’ll have your guests spellbound – the Disco Ball Cauldron! I saw this trend around instagram and Pinterest and immediately added it to my list of DIY for the season. PS This wasn’t my idea, but I’m not sure who came up with it first, but I saw it the first time on Stephanie Hanna Blog. Thanks for the inspo Stephanie!

What’s Brewing in the Disco Cauldron?
Picture this: a large, mysterious cauldron brimming with bubbling, glistening disco balls instead of a wicked witch’s brew. This whimsical twist on traditional Halloween decor is bound to cast a spell on your guests and make your Halloween celebrations truly magical. Plus, it’s *wicked* simple!

Materials You’ll Need:
- A large cauldron (plastic or metal)
- An assortment of small disco balls
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- String lights (optional, for added enchantment)
- Paint (if your cauldron isn’t already the color you’d prefer)

How to Brew Your Disco Ball Cauldron:
Step 1: Prepare the Cauldron
Give your cauldron a coat of paint depending on what color you’d like it to be. If you’re unsure, stick with black because this will give it that classic, spooky look and it pretty much fits into any color scheme for Halloween.
Also, in order to save on the cost of disco balls, go ahead and fill the cauldron up with stuffing, styrofoam, cardboard, etc. Anything you have lying around the house will work because it won’t be ruined by anything I did in this DIY. For me, I used leftover bubblewrap and filled the cauldron all the way up to the brim.
To hide this part, I used some leftover spider webbing that I had on hand. Again, this saved money on discoballs because it didn’t look badly if you could see into the gaps.

Step 2: Glitz Up the Disco Balls
Take your small disco balls and get creative! You can use hot glue to attach them to the inside of the cauldron. Make sure to arrange them in a way that they look like they’re bubbling up from the depths of the cauldron. The more varied the sizes and placements, the better! It’s like a disco party in a cauldron.
Note that the size of your cauldron will influence the size of your disco balls. I used a medium size cauldron and my disco balls were a little over 3″ in diameter for the largest size.

Step 3: Add Some Enchantment (Optional)
For an extra touch of magic, you can weave string lights into the disco ball bubbles. This will make your cauldron light up and shimmer, creating a bewitching ambiance. I skipped this step, but I actually think it’s worth going back and adding it because it’s so pretty to see it sparkle!
For me, I decided to add a little disco puddle underneath the cauldron to make it a little more interesting! It’s as if the bubbles dripped onto the mantle!

Step 4: Place Your Disco Ball Cauldron
Your enchanted cauldron is ready to cast its spell! Whether you’re setting it as a centerpiece for your Halloween party, displaying it on your porch, or using it as a prop for a haunted house, it’s sure to be the star of the show. Just make sure it’s in a spot where it can catch the light and really make those disco ball bubbles come to life.
I used mine on the mantle and I think it looks so cute there!
Tips for Extra Witchy Vibes:
- Add a faux smoke machine or dry ice for an eerie, bubbling effect.
- Surround your cauldron with witch hats, broomsticks, and other spooky props.
- Consider some eerie background music to complete the atmosphere.

Your guests are going to be absolutely mesmerized by this unique Halloween decor piece. It’s a fun, unexpected twist on the classic witch’s cauldron that’ll have everyone bewitched by your creativity. So go on and brew up some magic this Halloween season with your very own Disco Ball Cauldron. It’s a spooktacular hit waiting to happen! 🎃🔮✨
Let me know if you have any questions about it or if you attempt making one this year!!
