Hello there! It’s been some time since I was around here. (I spend most of my time on Instagram, so if you’re ever missing me, that’s the place to catch up!) However, I love sharing our projects here in more detail and something static where you don’t have to pause all of the images or see them on a small screen. I will definitely be sharing more of our apartment and the changes that we are making in 2021. For now, I’d love to share the current state of things after the Christmas decor comes down.

I’m really still very much into the hot pink and teal combination, and I have noticed I repeat it frequently throughout our apartment. This year I want to repaint some spaces, but I’m trying to decide if I want to stay in the same family or branch out!

Probably the room that I want to makeover the most. In the One Room Challenge last year I did a lot of great updates that I am glad I tried. But, long story short, it felt rushed and I was never totally in love with the final product. So, here’s to doing it without a deadline and with my most lofty visions in mind. (Hint: I’m thinking painting all four walls either a terracotta color or a bold teal!! Which one would you choose?)

I’m sure I’m not the only one shocked to be heading into another year with working remotely. I do have an office that I can go into, but many days I stay here and try to get as much done as I can. I love the lighting in our living room the best and so it’s the best spot for a desk.

Tiny rental kitchen continues to work hard over quarantine with more home cooked meals than ever and tight spaces, not really meant for two in the kitchen at any given time.

Both of our bathrooms are tiny, functional, and full of personality. I love them both. It’s surprising to me that it’s been a whole year since we painted this one pink. Definitely a sign that you should just go for your designs and do what you want to do because you never know what’s going to happen and we certainly would not have predicted being in this apartment locked down for a whole year!

So, there you have it! Some of the January views from around the apartment. We have lots of plans for upcoming designs around this place. We had briefly considered moving, but after searching and coming up short (and getting denied by a Beautiful place) we decided to stay put for a little longer. So, here’s to the new year and learning to love our current space again and making smart choices that will update a room without destroying your security deposit!
Until next time!
xoxo,
Amanda
